Stout & Teague was selected by WMATA as developer for 35 acres at the Huntington Metro Station in Fairfax County, a mixed-use project with townhomes (48), mid-rise apartments (422), high-rise apartments/condominiums (189-389), 20,000 sf retail, and 250,000 sf office. The project also involved the phasing of temporary parking for Metro patrons and coordination of construction of a new 1,500-car garage with WMATA and Fairfax County. Stout & Teague worked closely with County leaders and staff, WMATA, VDOT, and the surrounding communities in both Mount Vernon and Lee Districts to develop a plan that achieved unanimous approval as the first project under the PRM zoning category. Working with WMATA and Fairfax County, we established a funding program for the parking garage which replaced 930 surface parking spaces. The garage is open and the townhouse, 4-story apartments, and public park phases of the project are complete.
